Addressing Food Insecurity Through Action
More Good is a Hong Kong-based charity that leverages professional culinary expertise to tackle food insecurity, providing nutritious, chef-quality meals to vulnerable groups, including grassroots families and the elderly.
Recognizing the importance of this mission, a team of seven UCP volunteers—led by Ben Ku, Head of Creative & Product Development—stepped into More Good’s professional kitchen to support its operations end-to-end. The team’s efforts spanned the entire meal production cycle: from the meticulous preparation of fresh produce to the careful packing of lunch boxes, and finally, the direct distribution of hot meals to beneficiaries in the community.
Service with Dignity
For UCP, the measure of a CSR initiative is not just in the hours logged, but in the empathy built. A defining moment for our volunteers was the realization that our working lunch was the same high-quality, nutritious meal they had just prepared for the beneficiaries. This approach underscores More Good’s profound commitment to serving the community with dignity, respect, and equality—principles that deeply resonate with UCP’s corporate values.
