A Platform for Collective Action
True sustainability cannot be achieved in isolation. To drive systemic change, industrial leaders, academic researchers, and innovation catalysts must come together to share knowledge, challenge assumptions, and co-create pathways toward a circular economy.
On October 13, 2026, UCP Group successfully hosted its inaugural “Moving Toward Circularity” Symposium at HKPolyU SPEED. The landmark event served as a collaborative platform, engaging like-minded pioneers from diverse sectors to learn from one another and explore multi-dimensional opportunities for partnership.
We are deeply grateful for the strategic support of our executive management team, whose commitment to sustainable leadership championed this initiative from its inception.
Breakthrough Insights Across the Life Cycle
The morning session featured four multi-disciplinary keynotes from our distinguished speakers, each addressing a critical milestone of the circular value chain:
- Mr. Ivan Choi (Business Development & Investor Relations Manager, i2Cool) opened with “Electricity-Free Cooling: From Green Innovation to Real-World Impact,” showcasing how biomimetic radiative cooling technologies are transitioning from laboratories to global commercial applications.
- Dr. Boris Tong (CTO, NASK) and Mr. Greg Chan (Sales & Marketing Manager, NASK) co-presented “From Deep Tech to Deep Impact: Unleashing Nanofiber Innovation to Power Global ESG Transformation,” highlighting how advanced electrospun nanofiber technologies optimize material performance and resource efficiency.
- Ms. Cintia Nunes (GM and Head of Asia, The Mills Fabrica) presented “From Mill to Momentum: How Heritage, Innovation and Sustainability Can Shape a Better Future,” outlining how cross-sector incubation, strategic investment, and ecosystem-building accelerate the commercialization of sustainable startups.
- Prof. Zerance Ng (Associate Head of Research, HKPolyU SPEED) concluded with “Accelerating LDPE Biodegradation via Oxidative Enzyme Systems: A Materials Engineering Strategy for Circularity,” detailing cutting-edge scientific research on biological polymer degradation.
Bridging Theory and Practice: The Interactive Workshop
The afternoon transitioned into a hands-on, collaborative interactive workshop facilitated by our keynote speakers.
Rather than working within predefined structures, corporate executives, researchers, and technical specialists engaged in small-group roundtables to identify, pitch, and brainstorm their own real-world operational challenges in applying circularity. The session fostered deep, peer-to-peer advisory exchanges, demonstrating that our industry is ready to take active, collaborative steps forward.
Join Us in Shaping a Circular Future
For UCP Group, this symposium represents the start of long-term collaborative initiatives. We are actively seeking to connect and partner with like-minded pioneers—whether in academic research, manufacturing, investment, or design—to co-develop innovative solutions and drive value-chain circularity together.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our executive management, speakers, participants, and our venue partner, PolyU SPEED, for making this milestone event a shared success.
Let’s build the future of circularity together. For potential partnership inquiries or to learn more about our sustainability initiatives, please contact our team at esg@ucp.com.hk.
